Hello, fellow book lover!
Hope you had a great week.
I think I say this every week but this week flew.
During the weekend I finished reading The Shining by Stephen King, and I loved it.
This was our book club’s pick for October.
I’m so glad I decided to give this big book a try.
I don’t usually read books that are over 450 pages, but this one made me see what I was missing.
Longer book means more story, more depth to the story, and more character development.
If the writing is good, and the author is able to keep me engaged, then the more the merrier.
So for now on I’m going to give longer books a chance.
What about you? Do you like big books or do you run away from them?
And if you do read them, which ones do you recommend?

The Shining by Stephen King ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I really enjoyed reading this book.
Although I didn’t get scared, it had all the spooky vibes I was looking for.
I’m really glad the size of the book didn’t stop me from reading it.
I already knew I liked Stephen King’s writing but I forgot how much.
Now I have an urge to read more of his books.
Do you have any favourites of his?

The Year of the Witching by Alexis Henderson
A young woman living in a rigid, puritanical society discovers dark powers within herself in this stunning, feminist fantasy debut.
I was reading this book before my holidays and put it on pause to read The Shining.
To be honest, I’m not loving it. But since im still in the Halloween spirit, I’m going to give it another chance.
